We have been enjoying the Maori legend – Maui and the Big Fish. Here is a movie that we made for PENN to show our learning.
Today we had a special day to support the Little Hearts charity. We dressed up and had a lunchtime disco.
Atileen said “We went to the dance”.
Abigail said “I blew up a balloon and danced.”
Silivia said “I played with my brother Kiko. I love Red Day.”
Zoe said “I jumped and I was happy.”
Doras said “I was spinning around with my friends.” and… ‘Can we go to the Disco tomorrow?”
Chris said “I was running around and then I started playing with Zoe”.
Today some of our classmates made the most of lunchtime play by getting out on the bike track. They had so much fun zooming around on the school bikes!

This week we have been having swimming lessons at Glen Innes Pools. Watch our PENN movie to see how we have been doing.
Yesterday was an amazing day at Pt England Beach. Room 27 had fun with our whanau, aiga and all of our Pt England School friends. We swam, played in the sand, played games and shared kai.

We have been talking about the places where our Tupuna are from. We have shared what we love about our families, and our cultures. We shared these things on our very first blog posts. You can see these blogs on our blog pages from the link on the Pt England School website.

Emry has beeen learning all about numbers. He loves to count up to ten. Emry can count on his fingers, spots on dice and counters and then find the number on a number fan. Great job Emry.

We have been learning about Te Tiriti o Waitangi. We listened to a story called the Treehouse Treaty and heard how the children made a treaty so they could share a treehouse in a fair way.
We have made a Classroom Treaty. Each of us coloured in a unique handprint to show that we agree to follow our classroom rules.

On Friday Team One came together to get to know each other and our Teachers. We had our first team assembly of 2024. We welcomed our new akonga. Then we worked together on some Math problems. How many boys and how many girls are in our Team? We used pictographs and statistics to find the answer.

In the afternoon we came back to Room 27 and played together with our new friends.
