We have been reading the story “Giraffes can’t dance”. It is a great story about being an individual and celebrating what makes you different. We painted our own giraffes.
We love the story “The Rainbow Fish” . It is a story about friendship and the importance of sharing with others. When the Rainbow Fish shares he discovers he is much happier. We have written stories and made our own Rainbow Fish.
We had a great time visiting Harold the Giraffe in the Life education trust classroom. We met Harold and Sylvia and they taught us about how to be a good friend. What a great day at school!
Welcome back to school for Term 3. We are excited for all the learning that is ahead of us. This term we are learning about Health. We will be visiting the Life education trust caravan and Harold the Giraffe! We will be learning how to have a healthy mind and body. We will learn how to be a good friend. The teachers made a movie for our immersion assembly about how Stitch learnt to be a good friend. We hope you like it.

Room 27 loves the traditional tale of Maui and the Sun. We have been listening to the story, we have been writing our own stories, and we have made Maui and the Sun paintings.

We have been celebrating Samoan Language week with art and songs. We have leant how to say hello in Samoan and we have made siapo art. 
In Room 27 this week we have been talking about resilience. Playing with blocks is a great way to learn how to keep going after a set back and face up to a challenge.
We have talked about how often our fantastic towers fall over and we have to start again! Starting again gives us a chance to make our new tower better and allows us to learn from our mistakes. Plus building towers is fun. It was awesome to see the tamariki collaborating on design and build. Here are some of our best.
In Team 1 we love our Support Workers – they take such good care of us and are always there to help us be the best learner we can be.
