Learning about friendship with Harold.
We have been so lucky to have two visits to the Life Education caravan. We have loved learning all about friendship from Monica and Harold. Thank you Harold, for coming to visit Pt England School.

The Ned show
On Thursday we went to see the Ned Show. We loved the yo-yo tricks and the message of a growth mindset.

On Friday we wrote stories about the show. Tyler drew an awesome picture to go with the story we constructed together.

Learning about Shapes
Our Maths focus this week has been geometry. We have learnt all about shapes. We can name lots of different 2d shapes and we know how many sides they have.
We made pictures using different shapes and patterns.
We used these shapes to create some incredible pictures. Here are Tupou and Leyah’s amazing art works.

Silvia and Sahai made these fantastic creations. Well done!

Welcome back to Term 3 – Fit for Purpose
This term Pt England School is learning all about being Fit for purpose! This means we will be working on our physical fitness by training for the end of term Cross Country event. We will also be learning about mental fitness and how ‘fit’ friendships are important for keeping us happy and healthy.
The team 1 teachers made a movie to show at immersion assembly which shows how important friendship is.
Matariki fun day
Room 27 had a wonderful time on the last day of term 2. We celebrated Matariki with a day of art and shared kai. It was a great way to remember the meaning of Matariki and have a fun last day.
We painted pictures of the 9 stars of Matariki in the night sky. Then we made star biscuits to share with our whanau.
Happy Holidays everyone!

Samoan Langugage week

Pt England School loves Samoan language week. To celebrate our Samoan groups performed siva at assembly.

We were so proud of Team One members who danced beautifully. We had a special lunch of chop suey and then we made siapo art in the afternoon.

“What do liquids do?” – By Room 27
This term we have made a movie to share with our friends at Pt England School. In the movie you can see us investigating the properties of liquids. Watch our movie to see what we discovered.
If you like it please leave us a comment.
Chocolate liquid and solid
Today we made Chocolate crackle cakes. We melted chocolate to take it from a solid to a liquid. We discovered that by heating the chocolate it turned into a liquid. Then we added some rice bubbles and mixed them together. When we cooled the chocolate and rice bubbles in the fridge and then it turned into a solid again!

Maha can write
Today we practised writing some of the words from this weeks reading book. Our story is called A Wet Ant. He is hot and tries to cool down by putting on a sun hat.
Maha is great at reading this story. She wrote a sentence from the book and drew an amazing picture. Well done Maha!
