Bubbles bubbles everywhere

We had fun with our friends on Wednesday blowing bubbles.  We blew the bubbles and they floated away.

Paul managed to catch two bubbles on his bubble wand. PJ Harley said his bubble was round like a planet.

Kosima and Everleigh loved all the colours they could see.  They said the bubbles were like rainbows.

Learning through play

In Room 27 we love to play and we are always learning as we explore the world through play.

Here are some of things we have been up to…

Jamie and Jeneiro have been working together to share the trains, and create a wonderful set of tracks around the classroom.

PJ Harley and Alex worked together on some of our big animal puzzles.  The puzzles were very tricky and the boys had to concentration and persevere to get them done.

Jusiah was busy making patterns with the ice block sticks when he realised he could make letters.  He thought about how to make the letters of his name and he did it!

Make it work in Term 4

Today was the first day of Term 4 and we were all very excited to get back to school.  This term we will be learning about design and technology.  We will be thinking  zoo animals and the enclosures they need to keep them safe and happy. We are going to design our own enclosures and make prototypes of these.  It sounds like heaps of fun.

We had a go with some of our toys today.

The teachers made a movie to explain this to us.  We hope you like it.

Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori

This week we celebrated Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori with Waiata, Stories and art.  We did a lot of really cool stuff in class.  First we read the myth Maui and the Sun.  We acted out the story, we made costumes for our play, we painted Tama-nui-te-ra, and we wrote our own stories.

PES Cross country 2023

After a wet week ,the sun came out for this year’s Cross country run.  We dressed up in our house colours and waited on the field for our turn to run. We cheered for all the runners and soon it was our turn.

We ran as fast as we could and had to go through a lot of muddy puddles! We had lots of fun with our friends.

Tongan Language Week.

This week we have celebrated Tongan Language week.  We learnt about the Tongan Myth about the Rat and the Wheke.  We wrote our own stories about what we learnt.

Today our Tongan dancers performed at Assembly.  It was amazing to see them dance to the beat of the drums.

When we got back to class we got out our instruments and played our own beats.

How do others feel?

As part of our term theme “Fit for purpose” we have been learning about friendship.  Today we got to explore how other people feel by dressing up.  We discovered that other people can have different feelings to us and thats ok!

We also had a great time.  Check out our Firefighter Siu and Alex the Scientist!
